With over a million downloads on Apple’s iTunes appstore, iDownloader by Rex Solutions is a popular music app that simplifies discovery, downloading and playback of songs by the public.
Listening to the crowd
Rex Solutions wanted a way to get feedback from their users to find out what users really thought of their app and figure out how to make it even better.
“Our app is very easy to use and we get a lot of downloads but not as many reviews or emails from users” said Adnan Ahmad, the creator of iDownloader. “I wanted a more direct way to get more users feedback, and polljoy fit that need perfectly”.
One instrument, many tunes
The deployment went smoothly.
“Integrating polljoy’s SDK was fast and so was adding polls and managing results from the web console – it’s really easy to use.” said Ahmad.
Once installed, Rex Solutions used polljoy on iDownloader for many questions, including:
Question | Type | Goal |
How is the sound quality? | Multiple choice | Figure where the quality problems in the app were, if any, so they could resolve them |
Which feature do you like most? | Open answer | Find out what appeals most to users, and build on that strength |
Any new feature you’d like? | Open answer | Understand what users really wanted to be added, to help shape the roadmap |
How would you rate downloading? | Multiple choice | See if there were any widespread technical issues in the downloading features |
Breaking it down
Adnan and team found the web interface simple yet powerful for analyzing the results of the polls:
“I particularly liked being to see all the raw information like device and session counts when understanding the poll responses, as well as filtering automatically to generate graphs of the answers directly from the polljoy console. ”
“This type of feedback has been really helpful to improving the app, and given me a newfound level of insight into my users.” concluded Adnan. “I’m now deploying polljoy throughout my portfolio of other apps and games”
